Making castles in the....
**insert needle screeching across a record noise here** COFFEE CREAMER?!?!?! Ahhhhhh yes! Once again, while I trying to ever so quickly use the potty (maybe TMI, but I know ya'll that have kids have been there, done that!) my darling 2 yo somehow gets ahold of the coffee creamer that's up on the counter. She's just right around the corner from where I am.... so close.... yes so far away! She peeks around the corner and says to me (with a very proud smile), "Look, Mom! A Castle!" (and yes! She does call me "Mom" instead of "Mommy"... how heart breaking, huh?!) I walk out of the bathroom, and there it is... the whole container of powder creamer with little "waves" in it made by chubby little fingers! Uggggggggg!! Ok... do you use a stern voice, and let her know that isn't nice, and she shouldn't ever do it again? Or do you let the smile that's creeping over your face turn into the uncontrolled laughter that you're holding back? The daily joys of motherhood! :)

A day with the Doc
And it DID feel like a day, too! But I'll back track just a bit... My morning started out pretty well. Up around 7ish, everyone in a pretty decent mood, including me (which is rare, I just don't do mornings!). Called my "old" (the only one I can ever remember having... since age one) Doc office to see about picking up medical records on the four of us to take with me to the "new" Doctor. Hmmm.... office girls are there, but office won't be "open" until 1230... not good! But alas... they love me, and tell me to just knock on the window, and they'll let me in! Reason 2 gazillion 47 why I'm hating to leave there! Get the records, chat for a few, or I should say, Rach chatted for a few! LOL Still have a little time to burn before picking up Chels from school to have her rash looked at along with Rach's well baby check up, so go out by Mom's. Highlight of my day, and things went down hill fast from there!

Leave Mom's, make the long drive back to the school to pick her up by 130. Get there in plenty of time! Yippie! Leave the school, and then realize that I actually picked her up too early! Appointments aren't until 145.... IN TIME! Ugggg!! So..... going by home to burn a little time. Get to the office at 120 (IN), before my recommended time of 130 to do some paperwork as the girls are "new patiences" and need to be put in the system. So... we're there, and I'm doing that. 25 minutes later....we're done! This chicky was sooooo slow! Ugggg! So, now we wait to be called... thank God that only took a couple minutes as the lil one is getting ever so impatient! LOL

So now we're in the little room (eta 150...remember this!), the nurse goes through and asks all the routine questions about Chels, weighs her, see how tall she is, ect., then does the same with Rach. One down... Doctor to go! About 15 minutes go by.. and there she is!!! YIPPIE! Starts with Chels, asks her some questions about her rash, asks her to see it.... SHINGLES! My (almost) 13 yo has SHINGLES! Ugggg!! Not only are the Doc and myself surprised, but the other two Doctors that are in that office must have been shocked at the news, too, cuz a couple minutes later... they are in there wanting to see the "FREAK"! (as I so graciously called her in front of the three of them!) he he

So now we're on to Rach, and her well baby checkup. She does a very thorough evaluation on her (I was impressed)! Asks me about what she can and can't do... I proceed to tell her... All her ABC's, counts to about 13, running, jumping, skipping, clothes off, most clothes on (including shoes and socks... pants with both legs in the same leg hole), ect. The things I didn't think of, my older daughter chimmed in with. To which she replies..... "You're baby daughter is following in Einstien's footsteps!" Well, ok! Not exactly... but she did say "she's at AT LEAST a 3 yo level... and more like a 4 yo with some things!" **insert big cheesy proud Momma gring here**

Then she looks at her shot records, and long story short there... needs FOUR! Yes, you read right.... FOUR!! However, they can so kindly combine two of them... so ONLY three pricks! Ugggggggggg! So she leaves the room with the words "the nurse will be here in a minute to give her the shots..." A half hour later, and without big Sister to help occupy the lil one in the little tiny sauna of a room, the nurse... no, TWO nurses come in to give her the shots. They will both stab her in each of her tiny, lil bitty thighs at the same time... while I hold her down on the table! Uggggggg!! I hate when they have to have shots! She did really well though.. only yelled at them once "Stop it! Don't hurt me!!!" Then we were done, I stood her up, and she was excited to see her new band-aids! LOL And it's only 345!! Now think back to when I told you to remember our eta INTO the lil tiny sauna of a room!

Then, finally, home to fix dinner and get son to practice by 6 (MI... 5 IN time). I did pull it off (still don't know how!) and managed to nap in my truck for about 20 minutes while he was practicing. Kinda, sorta on accident.. he he I tipped my seat back, cranked the heat on high, blowing right on me, and the next thing I knew, he was at the door saying "Mom... wake up! It's time to go home!" LOL Gotta love those "accidental" naps... that are RARELY gotten! **Yawn** I hope that ya'll had a better... or less eventful day than I did! :)

Our evening....

Rach, at first, didn't like the feel of the punkin guts, but that changed quick enough! LOL I took over 50 pictures, here's just a highlight (in order) of them. Do ya like all of their "HUH?!" looks?! LOL There's 12 in all, so be sure to wait to see them all...

And here's all five of them.. the finished product! :) From left to right they belong to... Me, Rach (carved by Daddy), Danny, Chels, and Jason (lil one around front). I hope you enjoy sharing with me this fun nite we all had!

Family (grab tissies)
I ran into a stranger as he passed by,
"Oh excuse me please" was my reply.

He said, "Please excuse me too;
I wasn't watching for you."

We were very polite, this stranger and I.
We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told,
How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal,
My son stood beside me very still.

When I turned, I nearly knocked him down.
"Move out of the way," I said with a frown.

He walked away, his little heart broken.
I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken.

While I lay awake in bed,
God's still small voice came to me and said,

"While dealing with a stranger,
common courtesy you use,
but the family you love, you seem to abuse.

Go and look on the kitchen floor,
You'll find some flowers there by the door.

Those are the flowers he brought for you.
He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue.

He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise,
you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes."

By this time, I felt very small,
And now my tears began to fall.

I quietly went and knelt by his bed;
"Wake up, little one, wake up," I said.

"Are these the flowers you picked for me?"
He smiled, "I found 'em, out by the tree.

I picked 'em because they're pretty like you.
I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue."

I said, "Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today;
I shouldn't have yelled at you that way."
He said, "Oh, Mom, that's okay.
I love you anyway."

I said, "Son, I love you too,
and I do like the flowers, especially the blue."

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company
that we are working for could easily replace us in
a matter of days.
But the family we left behind will feel the loss
for the rest of their lives.

And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more
into work than into our own family,
an unwise investment indeed,
don't you think?
So what is behind the story?

Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

The funny you didn't wanna miss!
First off.. sorry! I really didn't mean to leave ya'll hangin this long!! My day kinda got crazy after I'd left that last post, but here ya go...

This was June of this year, which would have made my darling youngest daughter a year and nine months old. It was a day like every other, and I was running between the laundry room, and the rest of the house doing my daily routine. Rach was, for the most part, right on my heels the whole way wanting to "help" with all I did. This went on for the better part of the day. She had her afternoon nap with no problem (strange in itself!), I got her up, and we continued cleaning around the house, and doing laundry... with her still right on my heels helping. There was, of course, the occasional "breaks" that she would take in the family room when she passed by the TV and seen something "interesting" on, which was normally a commerical of all things (I think she just likes all the music they have in commercials). So when she wasn't in the laundry room with me "helping", I didn't think much of it... UNTIL...

I walked out of the laundry room into the family room, no Rach. Called her name, nothing! Not in the kitchen, not the bedroom with her toys, still not answering my calls for her! Ok, now I'm starting to panic! WTH could she have gone?! Went to go back into the bedroom, walking passed the half bath.. and that is when I found this!

Notice in the picture on the left, her look of surprise to see me! LOL Then notice in the picture on the right her look of satisfaction that she's doing such a fantabulous job! All she said to me was "Look, Momma! I'm making pretty!", over and over again, with that cheesy grin that you see in that second picture! Life just doesn't get any better than getting pictures of your child using toilet water (and yes! I had just cleaned it!) to "style their hair" to use at a later time in their life! LOL

Have to brag!
Is this not one of the most gorgeous kids you have ever seen?! She's all her Momma, looks just like me (identical to when I was her age!), acts just like me.. she's just my 'lil "Mini Me"!! LOL I could have done without the crimping of her hair, but she's that age... and it's "the look" she wanted. Which I know that there's much worse that I could be dealing with, so I just deal with it! lol

Yesterday...

was very interesting to say the least! I was sooo tired by the time we made it back home last nite that it was all I could do to throw Maxine up here! LOL I still can't believe that I forgot about her yesterday morning! I guess just goes to show how much a "morning person" I am not!

Anyway... back to yesterday. We arrived up there half hour early, so we just all sat in the auditorium and waited. Then when the other schools arrived (finally!) we got started. The kids had five pieces of music, that they'd only looked at once! The music ambassador for the state of Michigan is who was there to work with these kids... all day! And all day it was! Those kids stood on risers from noon until 420, took a 10 minutes break for a snack, then back to it until 630. At 7 pm they put on a concert with this music that they hadn't sung once before today. They were FANTABULOUS!! I'd never seen anything like it before, it was extremely intense work these kids did, and the music wasn't easy stuff to say the least either! Once song was in Spanish, and one was in Latin. Two of the other pieces had rather advanced dynamics, but they pulled it off just the same! You would have thought these kids had been working on these pieces for weeks, they were that good.

The whole day/evening went off without a hitch! All the kids were great, the concert was great, everything went almost too smoothly, ya know? Until.... I left my daughter's backback with her 1st hour books and homework on the bus! Yes! You read right, I did it! I'm hoping that she didn't have any problems this morning. I did write her a note for her 1st hour teacher telling him what I did just in case she couldn't get ahold of her backpack before then. Uggggg! Leave it to Mom! LOL

G'mornin all!

Wow! Ya'll have a lot to catch up on! Just in case ya'll don't know to scroll down... be sure to! There are eight or nine Punkin Patch pictures down there!

Up earlier than I really want to be this morning, but I couldn't sleep after hubby got up at 330 this morning, so I figured I might as well just stay up and enjoy a cup or two of coffee!

I am feeling a little better this morning than what I did when I woke up yesterday morning, so hopefully that's a good sign. I'm looking forward to my day long trip with my daughter today! I'll be gone up north with her all day (literally, 'bout a 12 hr adventure by the time we're done), but I'll try to post again tonite after I'm home to tell ya'll about it!
