Don't panic!
I'm not disappearing again... but I will be away for a couple days. Hubby's leaving on Sunday for active duty for a little bit, so I've got to get his stuff ready for him now so that I don't have to waste my time with him over the weekend doing it.

Other than that. All's well here in "Melis World". LOL My son's Bday was Monday, and he ended up having a pretty good, although very busy, day. So Happy Birthday to him! =)

I hope all is well with ya'll.. and I promise that I'll get over to your blogs to find that out! =)

Until then...

Bank Account
This is something that really hit me hard and I wanted to pass along to ya'll. I think way to many people put what really is unimportant in the big scheme of things at the top of their list. I hope ya'll enjoy...

Bank Account

A 92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move necessary. After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.

As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.

"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.

"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."

"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied.

"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. "It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.

Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.

Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.

So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank. I am still depositing." Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less.

Until then...

Weekend... and change
I know my title says weekend first, but I'm a difficult person, so deal with it! LOL You have probably noticed if you've made it this far that I've changed my dress here again. And if you've been around here for awhile, you'll also know that it's an old dress. AND... if you've been here long enough, and have paid attention, you'll ALSO know that Bossy has loved this blue dress the best out of all that I've done for my site, sooooo... Here's to you Bossy! Happy Bday! =)

My weekend was eventful, and exhausting as I've mentioned before. However, it was also a lot of fun! Friday was a rush day... trying to get everything ready for everyone, and get them where they needed to be. Hubby had Reserves this weekend, and none too surprising, waited until the last minute to get his stuff together, AGAIN! But everything got done, and accomplished, even if everything wasn't done until 2 am.

Saturday started at 515 am for me (do the math, that's 3 hours and 15 min that I had to fall asleep, and sleep!) ::yawn:: Got up to the school with son in tow, and on time, even a few minutes to spare. Meet the other Mom that was going to be in our personal group of 4 boys, she was awesome! We chatted it up the whole day, exchanged #'s, ect by the end of the day! =) The boys all seemed to have a blast, and they only had to get hollared at once by me. (yes! I embarrassed my son and yelled at his friends! LOL) Got back home with all kids off to bed about 10-1015 that nite, and started a little bit of the preparations for my son's Family Bday party about 1030. ::again, yawn::

Sunday everyone actually slept in (EVEN LIL ONE!) until around 9! YIPPIE! lol I was at first a little paniced, because I'm a neat freak, and get really stressed about that shit when I have people coming over.. even when it's just family. But the kids were really, REALLY fantastic this morning, and helped me out tremendously!!! I really do have wonderfully fantastic kids (when they want to be)!! LOL His party went really well.. and it was a beautiful day to boot! Couldn't ask for much more.. other than my hubby here to celebrate with us. He made it home today about 630ish, I really missed him a lot this weekend!

So that was that... hope ya'll had a fantabulous weekend as well!

Until then...

way to tired...
to have any kind of real, in depth kind of post, however...

I do want to take this time to try my damndest to make up to my very good friend, Bossy, what I lacked a week ago. I truely feel horrible!!! She's an awesome person, mother, wife, daughter, and friend...but most importantly, she's my one and only!

Bossy... HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLY! I am sorry that I didn't deliver as promised a week ago. I won't give out excuses for my poor frienship tactics even though myself and lil one were sick all week. *wink* I do love ya's girly.. and I hope that you're "do over" this weekend is the absolute best ever!

I'll try to stay awake long enough tomorrow nite to post about my weekend. It was very eventful to say the least. HINT: Can ya'll say Chicago trip with all of the 5th grade??

Until then.... (happy bday Bossy!)

Update.. and a funny
So the latest on the drama I caused over the weekend. Keep in mind that I'm no spring chicken... not late fall either, but certainly not spring! LOL My best friend is a few yrs older than me as well.. and not to mention ages, we'll just say that this "chic", or "girl" rather *LOL* is 20 yrs younger than he is! OK.. so that explains some of it, huh?! Yeah, I thought so!

And since there hasn't been anything exciting goin on other than that news.. here's a filler joke for ya'll...

Last night, my wife and I were sitting in the living room and I said to her, "I never want to live in a vegetative state, dependent on some machine and fluids from a bottle. If that ever happens, just pull the plug."

She got up, unplugged the TV and then threw out my beer.

bitch...

Gotta love that one! LMAO

Until then...
